Arrival: Day 1: Rwanda History and Culture Day
We leave just after midnight Dubai time, so we arrive very early into Kigali 600 am. After arrival, head to Kigali for breakfast drive to Ruhengeri. We will visit three historical places today: the Nyamata Church, the Genocide Memorial Museum, and the Milles Collines before we drive to Uganda.
Dinner and overnight in a tented camp in Rushaga, the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Day 2 Gorilla Tracking:
Your guide will arrange the gorilla family that you will track, while you enjoy a warm cup of tea/coffee and the cultural performance by the local community group. Once your gorilla family has been confirmed you will attend a brief, given by the Park Rangers on the Do’s and Don’ts of gorilla tracking. The tracking will take between two and nine hours, depending on the movements of the gorilla family that you are tracking. Once you have found your gorilla family you will spend one hour with them, observing their movements and taking photographs. The Park Rangers will accompany you at all times during the trek. After you gorilla trek, you will go back to the hotel for lunch and some relaxation. Overnight stay and dinner. Meal plan is full board.
Day 3: Morning Canoe Ride and transfer to Kigali
Spend the morning relaxing and enjoying the view at the top of the mountain. Go for a short village visit or visit one of the community projects that we support in the village. We will leave the hotel around 11 am, and stop for lunch at Diane Fossey’s favorite hotel while she met with humans. You will also get your first reliable iternet connection! Time permitting, we will visit the cultural center for shopping if interested later transfer to the airport for your flight back at 11 pm. You will arrive back in Dubai at 830am.
